The folk dances and costumes are significant part of the indigenous people culture. They are passed to young people by their grandmothers and grandfathers. The magical curves of the national patterns may contain the wisdom of the past and the same could be right with exotic motions of dancers. Several scientists work now in attempts to decipher the semantic meaning of both.

Everyday work, such as hunting and fishing won't be successful if you don't say and show something to the Spirits by your ritual dance. In hard climate conditions, indigenous tribes have learned to rely on Nature and to live in harmony with everything around them. The rituals are the language for communicating with powerful natural forces.

From childhood, they learn to do what they ought to. Often you can see wonderful performances with no tourists or other spectators. Then everybody around you is a participant of an ancient tradition, where every person knows his role and does act in consonance with others without any words - you feel that you are an alien in this mystical symphony of life. At the same time you are charmed like by a swarm of dancing butterflies and can not turn your had away, even you don't understand what is going on.

The Nature is everything for those people. There is no better stage or scenery. Nobody pays for entrance and there is no defined edge for the beginning and the end of the performance. Real life is just one of the actors, like you and me.

The kids are the same in every country, unless you see how serious they are when they tell you the "fairytale" of their tribe. It's interesting that those stories became native even for Russian children, who live in the same setting. And again, it is hard to say what is just a legend and what is the voice of Mother Nature.

The luxury of wedding robes grabs your attention. Quite often, the patterns are taken from the ancient robes of great-grandmothers and transplanted into a new piece of art. Sometimes they look like a set of abstract curvatures, but frequently they symbolize various sacred animals and meaningful plants. Strict geometry of very complex pattern always makes you to question why this art is called "the primitive".
